The District Attorney represents the County's interests in criminal cases, as well as providing legal counsel to County departments in criminal matters.

DA Diamond was elected District Attorney in November 2020 and commenced her term on January 1, 2021. A graduate of Pace Law School where she was Editor-In-Chief of the Pace Law Review, DA Diamond also has an M.B.A. from Mount Saint Mary College, as well as Bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration and Accounting. She brings over 20 years legal experience; having commenced her legal career working for Ernst & Young, LLP as a State and Local Tax Consultant in New York City, Stamford Connecticut and Iselin NJ.

After relocating to the North Country, Diamond was counsel to the Fulton County Department of Social Services and later served as Assistant Public Defender in Montgomery County. She worked as an ADA in Montgomery County from 2017 through the end of 2019 when she temporarily left the office to run for election.

DA Diamond is a proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corps and fondly refers to that experience as the “best job I ever had for the least amount of money.” OOH RAH!
